It depends on the job. Some estimates are as simple as a two-minute drive-by, while others call for a 30-minute on-site consultation where we walk through every concern you have about your trees.
We recommend installing a drip system rather than a sprayer, so the soil is soaked thoroughly with each watering and you are not stuck watering by hand. Water daily for the first two weeks, then once a week for the following month, then a couple of times a month as needed after that. Download the full watering guide (PDF) for reference.
Depending on the situation, we remove trees by climbing with ropes and rigging techniques or by using our bucket truck to carefully piece the tree out. You can watch our crew in action on our YouTube channel.
This varies by species, but there are three general tests we use: visual observation for discoloration or peeling bark, the scratch test to check for a green cambium layer beneath the bark and a flexibility check, since live branches bend while dead ones become brittle and snap.
Spring or fall. Cooler temperatures during these seasons give newly planted trees the best chance to establish healthy roots before summer heat or winter freeze sets in.
It depends on the species. Crabapple, apple, pear, mountain ash, hawthorn and American elm trees should be pruned while dormant in the winter months to reduce the risk of spreading disease. Most other species can be trimmed any time of year.
Every crew we send out has at least 10 years of experience in arboriculture, so your trees are in capable hands from the first cut to final cleanup.
No, you do not need to be home. We just ask that you're available by phone or text in case we have questions, and reachable to handle payment once the job is complete.
