Tree Trimming

Did you know most of the trees you see in the Denver front range urban area are not native to Colorado? The Ponderosa Pine, Blue Spruce, Cottonwood, and Aspen trees are some of the only ones native to Colorado. All of the Ash, Oak, Linden, Apple, and Maple trees you see have been planted as people continue to develop the land. Because these trees are not native, they grow differently than they do in places they are native. Ashes develop lower, heavier branches that need weight reduced in order to lessen the chance of breaks because they do not grow as straight and fast as they do in old growth forests. You may need to trim your trees for the sole purpose of training them. For example, there might be a branch growing towards and/or already on your roof. In removing the lower junction of the branch, we are able to help the tree grow up and away from the obstacle it was interfering with. Another more obvious reason for trimming is for the deadwood within the crown of the tree. Removing the deadwood helps to reduce the stress on the tree by taking away unnecessary weight, improving circulation within the tree, and opening up the interior for more sunight to penetrate as many leaves as possible. There are many reasons to trim your trees, and we can assure you, they need it!
